I think it is wonderful that you baked a cake for the party. You get props because I cannot bake at all! Im not going to lie, I would normally think of a female to bake a cake or any type of a dessert and I would think the males would bring the chips or the drinks. Again, I think it's great that you baked. I bet you can bake better than some of the women in the office!

Eureka Moment

I seem to have alot of eureka moments when I'm at work. For my summer job I work on campus with the Study Tours program. My job deals with all of the international students from Europe and the Middle East. Majority of the students are from Italy. It's such a culture change when these kids (they are mostly high school students). The way they dress, their personalities, and they way they act are similar yet very different from our culture. The girls and the boys both seem to be very high maintenance. I think it's crazy when I see one of the 16 year old Italian boys has a nicer "man bag" than my pocketbook. I feel that majority of these kids only care about materialistic things. All they want to do is shop shop and shop some more. I really find it interesting how open they all are with their personalities.

This is really interesting. I think its great to hear that men are comfortable to cry. I think that all people weither male or female should be comfortable to let their feelings and emotions out. I am comfortable showing my feelings. Also, as for men whining, we women are allowed to whine so why not men? I mean it's only fair!

I want to see this movie so bad! What did you think of it? I agree with how you said men are more honest then women. I like for people to be honest with me, but majority of the time I'm guilty of sugar coating things. I know it's best to always tell the truth, I jsut hate hurting other people's feelings because the truth can hurt. As a male, do you prefer hearing the truth even if it's hurtful?

Eureka Moment

I work on a staff of 8 men and 8 women. For the most part we all work really well together. I just don't think we all do an equal amount of work. With the exception of a few, it's always the males doing the manual labor like moving furniture or lifting heavy boxes and the females are usually doing office work at the computer or at the desk. It kind of bothers me that we don't switch roles. I feel that it is expected for the men to do the manual labor and for the women to sit at the desk. I try my best to do both, I just wish everyone else on the staff would. I think that if we switched roles or we did half and half we would all learn something. We learn new things everyday, and by working together and doing new things, we are gaurenteed to learn new things.

Week 4 Eureka Moment

I've recently really gotten into watching the show John and Kate plus 8. I was watching one of the reruns the other night with one of my friends and the episode showed something that is commonly thought of as a "womans job". In this particular episode, John was going to cook dinner for the entire family. Kate was so nervous and kept freaking out saying she didn't want him in 'her' kitchen. Many people always think that the mother/wife should cook the meals. I know in my family my mother usually cooks our meals. It's very rare for my father to do so. Many other families I know are the same way, the women cook the meals. I thought it was a really nice episode when John cooked for the family. I think more men should cook for their families. And I also feel that the wives should allow them to without making comments. I think it's nice to take turns in the kitchen because that's how families should work. Everyone should work together. And who knows, maybe the men can actually cook better then the women!

Eureka Moment Week 3

I just recently started my summer job and I work with a staff of 16. I've worked with some of the people in the past but I don't know majority of the new people. Our boss thought it was a good idea for all of us to go to the movies for staff bonding. We saw A Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian. At first I didn't want to go see it because I thought it was a child movie, but I'm now glad I saw it. During this movie, I had a eureka moment with storyline of the character for Amelia Earhart. Since her storyline was based off of her real life personality, it was really interesting. She wasn't afraid to be different or try things women wouldn't normally do. Being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, she opened up new doors for women all over. I really think of her as a role model, and I can't believe I feel this way just after watching a kids movie!
